Are We Done Yet?

It’s Christmas Eve and as much as I enjoy the Christmas season, I’m always excited to have it behind me. I guess that’s because it consumes so much time, energy and resources. Instead of allowing it to just be about Jesus, (the reason for the season,) we get swept up in commercialism, overscheduled calendars, time-honored traditions taking up lots of time. Some of it is good, no question. But it can be exhausting.

When it’s over, I’ll breathe a sigh of relief, enjoy the pleasure I received in giving something special to my loved ones, spending time together and celebrating a whole lot of healing this year, while praying to overcome some new challenges that have evolved. The real gift is that we were together.

Even though our Christmas dinner hasn’t been digested yet, I feel a sense of anticipation about a new year, the iconic new beginning. Every year we get one. A chance to begin again. January first arrives and for no justifiable reason, we are refreshed, renewed and ready to take on a new year and all that we want it to be. I’m excited, and hopeful that my book will take shape in ways I never expected. As well as other projects. Keep checking in as I share some of that journey with you. And for today, on this Christmas Eve day, wishing you and yours a very, very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Namaste.

Patty
